Dunno

Yep its true. Takes about 6 mins to rip a cd and then with a game that supports the music jukebox e.g. Project Gothem. You can then listen to the tracks on the hard drive.
Developers take a lot of time either creating or licensing music for games, and they sometimes pay a lot of money for it too. So I can't see them being happy including an option to ignore their hard work, or wasting their money on a score that may never be heard.
Imagine MGS2 for example. The music is by Harry Gregson-Williams (I think?) who does the music for hollywood movies - Enemy of the State is the one that's always mentioned. You can bet Konami paid him a pretty penny for that, and neither he or they would be happy if someone turned it off and stuck some Drum n Bass over the top! :-)
Dunno if thats true though.
Besides, MP3 decoding doesn't require any special hardware - it's all done in software. And who's to say there won't be such software developed once the HD arrives.
