Lately, all we've been hearing is "Who will win the next-gen wars?" Let me ask you, does it really matter?
All I see on the forum are topics based around 'Why [enter console name here] will defeat the opposition'. Do we really care? I certainly don't.
I just wanna play games, whether they're on Dreamcast, PlayStation 2, X-Box, GameCube, SNES, Megadrive or Gameboy, it just doesn't matter to me. I want to have fun!
I can appreciate the fact that not everyone will be able to afford to purchase all of the next generation consoles. Then you simply choose the console best suited to you, whether it be X-Box, Dreamcast, PlayStation 2 or GameCube.

Definately... the idea behind games is the fun. Obviously, some consoles are better at providing developers with the means to create great games (Sony's PS2 dev. software isn't helping). However, you do not need great hardware for great games. Personally my favourite game ever is Sega NiGHTS on the Saturn- hardly the greatest console ever.
What I do object to though is consoles that forfeit games in order to provide profit. For example (sorry to use the same example twice), the PS2's DVD player is aimed at creating an audience for Sony published films. I'm sure that most gamers would prefer a cheaper console to having added extras like this.
