ok, so i thought they might be talking about the gamecube one but when i looked again it said PS2 in the same sentance. this could only mean we will get a modem add-on soom.
can somebody with Tony Hawks 3 please confirm htis from their instruction booklet?
and if we do get it ANT i challenge you to a grudge match!

What you need is a supported USB LAN/56k modem adaptor, and a current ISP........
If you have a broadband modem, it is as simple as conneting the LAN sonnector to the modem, and turning on your PS2. The THPS3 server is an "INTERNATIONAL" server. meaning that you aren't locked to playing people just from the UK.........
Want to prove your better than a Yank at Skateboarding games?? You need a PS2, a modem, and THPS3, of course...........

It supports LAN, Broadband and stnd Modem play modes as well as i-link (but don't quote me on that!!)
There's a menu that explains all, or have a look through the manual (just an idea!!)

I havnt got the game, but i know for sure THPS3 on PS2 has online capabilities. I also know that the Gamecube version doesnt.
