My computer does NOT have a USB port, but considering how nearly all new hardware requires USB, I was wondering if there is any way that I can get a USB port on my PC, and if so, for how much.

Thanks

You can buy a PCI USB card, simple thing that just slots into a spare USB port and has either two or four USB ports on it. Couldnt tell you a price off the top of my head and i cant seem to find anything on my fave sites, i'll keep looking and get back to ya.

erm, when I said slots into a spare USB port I meant PCI.. but I suppose you guessed that, because otherwise it'd just be daft..

Prices are around about £15 for a 2 port one or £30 for 4 ports.

I found them in a trade only catlogue I had kicking about the floor, i think you may have to have a search around yourself, a local computer shop should have one or be able to get one for you.

Don't get them from PC World, they cost a bomb.

Does anyone know the bus speed of PCI?

Cant remember, know it changes when you up the CPU frequency, which is a handy way to blow any PCI cards on your system :)

my voodoo 3 does run slightly warm, are flames and thick black smoke a bad sign?
