What do you do on New Year's Eve, this year in particular?? Normally, you'd go to a party with your mates and get completely 'drunk' (as I won't use 'the other' word). Or you go out and see some fireworks display, or local entertainment going on in the city or down the pub. The alternative is to siton your 'backside' all night moaning for a cup of tea, like Jim from the Royle Familly. Yes, that includes the Souse accent and the 'energetic' familly around you. But being the N64's last ful year of production, I think this is what you should do...

Make sure your N64 is working and setup right, and ready for a night of playing like it's never experienced before!! Then phone up a load of your mates and invite 'em round on the 31st. And if you don't have 4 official controllers, then get someone to bring the required number for 4 player multiplayer showdowns.

Next you'll need several (not just one or two) great games with top multiplayer options to go head-to-head all night long. You can't just play one or two games all night long, you'll need variety to keep your guests entertained and show your N64 gaming skills in a variety of games!! This may mean you have to buy them at a reduced price pre-owned, or rent them out for the night. Incase you forget (???) the date is: 31/12/01.

I reccomend the following games: 1080 Snowboarding, Goldeneye, Perfect Dark, Mario Kart 64, TWINE, ISS (2000 or '98) and several others. But DON'T just stop at one game!! I hear they now stock pre-owned games at Special Reserve club shops!! Hmmmm...worth a look!!

Buy them early and you'll have enough time to master each game, and prepare yourself for an all-nighter!!

The sooner your mates arrive, the sooner you can all start playing!! So it may be a god idea to invite them round a bit earlier than usual. Next, START PLAYING!! And you'll soon find the hours flying away into the past, and you'll soon be getting deeper into the night. When you come to this point, I think it's time for a break. So go downstairs, get some food, and don't forget the good old drink!! Prefferably something strong, and lots of it!! It'll make the gaming more interesting. Especiall y as you enter what I call: 'DrunkeN64'. I call the previous mode: '6ober 64'.

And eventually, at the end of the night (when it's probably morning/afternoon) you will have just participated in the greatest New Year's Eve ever!! And will have said goodbye to the N64's last year of production, in the best way possible!!

You'll feel good about yourself (except the hangover!!) having done the right thing, and had fun. And once the headaches have gone, you'll realise the GameCube launches this year, and that the N64 can never be forgotten!! Especially after the night you've just had.

This is what I intend to do this New Year's Eve, and what every other Nintendo fan should do, especially if you love the N64.

Have a 'Happy Nintndo New Year' everyone!!

Last new year I just sat in front of my n64 with a glass of wine trying to complete Jet Force Gemini, aah! I remember it as if it were yesterday... well maybe not yesterday.

I think that's what I might go for, I never have really given a crap about the New Year, the pubs are always packed, the clubs are always far too expensive, at most i'll go round a mates house and get drunk can't be bothered with making a big thing about it.

As for playing your N64 on New Years eve, I frickin wish I could play some multiplayer games with some mates, but that won't happen all my mates are too "old" for computer games apparently, so I will most likely end up in some crappy sweaty meat market club even though I don't want to.

Well I could play my N64 on New Year but considering I sold all my good games to get money for GBA ones then it woun't be that fun. I only have WWF No Mercy (not a bad multiplayer) and Mario Tennis (also not bad).

But the thing is, none of my friends have N64s and I only have 1 control. My other 2 are broken. So unless we take thurns there ain't going to be much fun. As if taking turns is fun at all.

Agh. What to do this year... difficult one.

My uni friends will be scattered around this and other countries. (Hmm, go see a friend for new year in greece, or somewhere? No, too close to christmas and i've seen too many die hard films (there wasn't a plane in 3 was there? Can't remember that one too well now - but you see the point on 1 and 2. Or that it's an excuse because i can't afford the flights and wouldn't speak the language, and would only know 1 person)).

My friends from back home - we've become fragmented, different people staying in contact with different people, in a big web of having kept in touch with people. Do something with a couple of them, and they'll want to include people you didn't stay in contact with, and those people the same again. I just don't like (from experience) that situation of knowing everyone, but most of them, you both know you don't like each other enough to bother with them the rest of they year, but are acting friendly out of obligation and the fact that if you didn't, you'd only speak to a handful of people all night.

Last year i was working, which avoided the problem and paid very nicely. This year i won't be working, i'll still have too much uni stuff to do.

I don't even really care that it's new year, but when every other person in the country is partying, you can't just sit at home with beers and a film, can you?

But why would you want to sit infront of a Computer screen, with your mates if your not playing any games?? I don't play games on my PC, so I go play on my N64, it's great for playin' wiv your mates! Better than sittin' infront of a screen all night, alone, in the silence.

If you've got an N64, you should seriously consider doing like my suggestion. It's better than being stuck on-line, without doing on-line gaming.

Well I could sit and read a book - but that would be too boring.

I could go out and walk the dog - but it would be too cold and damp.

I could as you said, go out and get very - But why do that when I can come on good old SR!

Not a bad post anyway, getting more to the point. Use SR's time consumingness (is that a word?) on Xmas Eve. It works.
