is just me or is the gaming market flooded with sequels?
I mean every game that seems to have sold more than 5 copys seems to be worthy of a sequel in the producers eyes!
Isnt the best way to follow up a good game to bring out a complety diffrent one?
look at final fantasy that shifts 1000's of copys and they change the storyline and characters every game! and also GTA3 and GTA: vice city
two complety diffrent storylines but have both hold the number one slots for as long as anyone can remember it seems like everyone and their granny seems to have a copy!
Football games fair enough this should be done because no one really likes them anyway but with great games like resi and devil may cry the promise of a sequel coould ruin the game! I love tony hawks but if they bring out a fifth i will go mental!!!
so dont buy sequels buy original games like herdy gerdy and the thing!!!

Isn't it "Tired of Sequels"? Anyway...

It depends on who's making the game. Some sequels are executed beautifully, whilst other are dismal attempts to boost sales. Like you said Final Fantasy in one of the most sucessful games, but, as you said, it doesn't usually use a continous storline or consistent characters. Yet, unbeknown to you it would seem, they are releasing FFX-2. This will feature the same characters as FFX. But this wasn't an ambitous solitary desi by Squaresoft. Oh no, this was after heaploads of letters pleading them to remake FF's, and who could complain that a second FFVII would be one of the best things ever?!?

Who cares if it is a sequel? If it is a good game I'll buy it, of not I won't. And of course people really like football games; ProEvo 2 is probably second only to GTA 3 in terms of playtime on my PS2.

Here, but if I didn't buy sequels I wouldn't have been able to buy either of those great games, or the console in fact.

Read my review of "The Thing", if you can take the spelling mistakes then you will see what I thought of that game.
