Sony really needs to get some must have exclusive titles out there on the shelves soon across the globe. It doesn't really benefit consumers that one of the top 3 games consoles isn't really selling as many units as it should. It means developers are more wary and Sony's only development teams have to be more cautious about what they release.
Competition in the games market has always driven the games themselves to greater heights, so I for one hope that Sony can stem the poor sales.
It does look like a price drop may be in the cards, though. Sony have cut the costs of their Blu-ray production, which should have a knock on effect on the price of the PS3. The only problem is, Sony may hold out until the latter part of the year to drop the price, as the major games releases come from September onwards.

I couldn't care less if Microsoft failed in the console war, the only thing they add to the market that interests me is their online, and even that could probably be imitated.

It would be a hell of a lot worse if the Wii hadn't taken off.
Given Sony have just dropped the price of their Blu-Ray player to undercut the PS3, you have to imagine a PS3 price cut quite soon. It'll be interesting to see by how much though. I think i've seen quotes of $100 (£50) but i'm not sure thats enough. Bringing it down to £350 may stir some interest in the trade-in market.
