BloodRayne?
I hadn't heard or, in my favour, seen anything of this game until last night, and what a joke it is!!
The Blueprint must have been thought up by a bunch of drunk, fat, sex-less, Star Trek-hugging, fetish-loving, comic-book-reading nerds!
A Vampire Goth Woman-thing... With Ginger Hair of varying lengths... Spindley legs and no life. It's basically a dominatrix game stood alongside a very pathetic storyline!
Okay, so it's 'each to his own' and all that, but how can anyone appreciate this game? If heels, whips and chicks with di.., well you know, is your game, then fine, but in a videogame?! What's next, a full-blown Séance?
Granted, there may be a market for this type of game, but how big can it be?! Just above half of all lads/men have a lady... that's 60% of gamers gone... 50% of the remaining 40% probably have some morals; and 60% of the 50% of the 40% probably appreciate decent games and wont play this crap.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying I could code a better game... I'd struggle with a Flash 6 version of Space Invaders, but surely Majesco could delegate a better game to whoever developed this whack?!
Maybe it's just me, but if Nintendo can make the money they make without putting an ouce of blood in their games, why have we got this? Granted, we don't want another Lara/Jen/Anonymous-hero-woman-#342, but this isn't different enough to make it stand out... Plus, vampire games don't work... look at Blade II.
BloodRayne looks repetitive and boring. It may be quick, But it still seems a waste of time!
I probably shouldn't have slated one game so much, but with the market we're in there's plenty of room for better games!
Game
As for that dominatrix talk...you'd be suprised how well 'adult' content actually sells.
There are far too many curious teens out there who'd like to hope they'll see more than the censors allow you to, and so would probably try it out if they can get their hands on a copy.
However, as BMX XXX has shown us, 'adult' content doesn't necessarily sell games alone...
