I just read on NewsWire that MGS2 has sold an estimated 1.8 million copies in the US so far.

Do you think that come February it will be released over here as a platinum title for £19.99?

If so, doesn't it take time between the game's release and its being turned platinum? (as in Lower price range platinum... not platinum sales wise)

We had a price cut for the PS2 before the Americans. And that's good.

Heh, not likely considering the way we get treated price-wise over here.

THe problem is that they can't call these games Platinum because they're pretty naff. Maybe the "Copper" range is more suited to titles like these.

There is news going round about a cheapie range - games retailing for £14.99. Games include Dynasty Warriors 2 and Smuggler's Run.

I doubt it...

Final Fantasy X sold close to 2.5 million copies in less than 24 hours in Japan. They are not confirming anything for that yet.

Besides, if Sony were considering Platinum titles, there would be news going around regarding the games that came out on lauch day.

I hope it does get released as a Platinum title though, I would love to pay £20 for one. Well, I would not mind winning one here. Hey Special Reserve, it's my birhtday just before the release date for MGS2. Do you suppose you could squeeze in a chance for me to get GAD prize - HAHA
