I just bought Sapphire version POkemon while my brother bought Ruby. Each of us started on the same day, and both of us got stuck at the Elite Four. MOst of my POkemon were 50+ and still the Elite Four crushed me. I then spent all of my money on potions and revives and finally managed to beat them all. Both Ruby and Saphhire have close plots however, they greatly contrast those of Red, Blue, Yellow, SIlver and Gold. There are two versions, called Pokemon Ruby and Pokemon Sapphire. The game will feature improved graphics, and 135 new Pokemon, which makes a grand total of 386 Pokemon. Ruby/Sapphire uses an entirely new numbering system, having old and new Pokemon mixed in all together, with all the Pokemon you can't capture in Ruby/Sapphire starting from #203. There are 202 different Pokemon available for capture. Also, there will also be two on two battling, which means using two Pokemon to battle at a time. In Ruby/Sapphire, you will not be able to trade Pokemon with past versions. It is not known at the current time how it will possible to get all Pokemon with only 202 available and without the ability to trade with past versions. However, it may be possible the uncapturable Pokemon will be available in a future version. And so a new generation of POkemon will be born

I might get this (but I'll probably just 'borrow it' off my brother when he gets it.

Yeah I've clocked up a load of hours too. ;-))

I've caught some excellent Pokemon so far. Its one of those games where you'll spend ages playing it and you're well rewarded for doing so. Really had to battle with some of them in order to catch them - but its been worth it. :-)

I'll no doubt buy Ruby at some point, but I'm in no hurry right now as I've already spent a lot that needs to be paid off. Plus I'm enjoying taking my time with Sapphire. Clocked up like 24 hours so far and I have 3 badges (on my way towards getting 4) and I have like 40 different Pokemon. I've evolved and levelled up a bunch of them too.
Its nice to play the game from scratch again and have so many new Pokemon - brings back the excitement of seeing what they evolve into. ;-)

I got Sapphire in the post yesterday and I'm really loving it. Zelda Wind Walker arrived at the same time and Pokemon is winning hands down in the time played race.

Gold seems so long ago, I'm totally smitten again. Forget the silly kids characters, it's a bloody great game for gamers of any age.

Well there is also the chance that you might get an E-card version of the special pokemon since you could get an E-card player for the GBA.
