This is not intended as a review, if it was I would review it, but aside from the fancy graphics, I think that SSX Tricky is a bit naff. The tricks are alright, but are positioned in the way that if you are trying to tweak a trick while your boost bar is full, you'll do an uber trick, while not wanting to.
The uber tricks are good, but take the challenge out of the game if you are trying to get a high score; fill up your boost, find a big jump and uber your way through.
But anyway, the game is still good and warrants a purchase, what I'm trying to say is the name suits it - but not in the sense it intends to be. The good is too hard; the steering is odd, and to get down the track fast you need to stick perfectly to a certain route, one which is extremely hard. The opponents always hit you over, and it is very rare to find it the opposite way around.
It is just too hard. There are a lot of you that don't feel this way, but appealing to the mainstream videogaming market is a hard thing, and if a game is too difficult it will fail. So, most people will probably go for Tony Hawks 3, a game which has a sensible learning curve, unlike SSX Tricky which is tricky.
The game is good, but the AI is just too perfectly honed to be realistic, even if that is not what the game is meant to be.
