Now i dont have broadband connection in my home, yet my flatmate has a normal usb internet top-up dongle which he uses for his laptop, now i tried to use this on my ps3(40gb) and it never worked, now i know that if he put the usb dongle on to his laptop then the ps3 would be able to connect to the internet through the wifi right? however he is not to keen on me using his data! So i heard about wifi dongles, looked it up on youtube and seen that a ps3 can connect to a wifi dongle? he was using a new slimline ps3 however, and i just wanted to make sure if it was possible? And if it was how much data would i need to actually play a good few hours of online gaming? thanks, much help appreciated, dont wanna waste alot of money on this!

I've had this problem and essentially no, it's not possible. You would be able to use the PS3 internet browser but for some reason, you can't sign-in to the PSN network, get updates or play online.
I suspect it's because you won't have the bandwidth and the reason your friend won't let your use it anyway is bandwidth on mobile dongles is very expensive and the PS3 will decimate his usage.

The coolest ISP ever!
In my opinion, the ISP is the best I have ever used. They guarantee 'first time connection - everytime', which they have never let me down on.
10/10
Over the years I've become very jaded after many bad experiences with customer services, you have bucked the trend. Polite and efficient from the Freeola team, well done to all involved.
