I hate the way for some games you have to be a certain age to get it. I'm 15 and the shop assitants ask for your age just to buy Tony Hawks 3! On Friday me and my friend went to game so he could get Tony Hawks Pro skater 3 and there was a boy in front of us wanting to buy it but the shop keeper wouldn't let him buy it. The kid was almost in tears!! Just because the game has some cursing and a little violence doesn't mean that a fan of the game shouln't be able to buy it.
Also in Grand theft auto 3 they don't let you buy it because your 'under age'. I was able to buy the first and second one but not the third as i'm too young! Yeah right. It's not like I have never seen the stuff before in other games and film's and stuff. Just because you kill poeple, Find prostitutes, steal cars and get a whole load of guns. That means nothin cause it's not like people are going to take it seriously.
It's sooooo unfair the way they do that and they probably enjoy telling people that they are not old enough to purace it. They probably laugh when the kid walks away empty handed and sad and in tears. I would probably laugh if I did that but as I said Its unfair!!!!!!!!

I don't think the shop staff are laughing at you when they say you can't have a game or when they ask your age. After all, the more money they make on a till the better chance of a payrise at the end of the week.
The thing is, games like GTA3 have an 18 rating not because the games industry asked for it (they'd much prefer a 15 rating, they'd sell more that way), but because the British Board of Film Classification deemed it 'Suitable only for persons of 18 years and over'.
So from a legal point of view, retailers HAVE to check your age if they are in any doubt. It's the same with cigarettes, selling them to minors is a prosecutable offence.
