The 2007 summit was held in Germany this year and unfortunately resulted in these violent demonstrations. I've always wondered how people could ever believe that violence is ever a solution to anything. Did they have a rational platform to lobby for the ministers, aside from how they disagreed?
Why not globalization? If the greater of nations is willing to help the less fortunate, why would anyone be so against? There are people dying on our planet with no food or medicine, and no forseeable aide from anyone. Is merely talking about how we can remedy these circumstances such a threat to our existence?
Are we agreed, says one.
Yes, says another.
Then it is agreed.
It is.
Let's go outside for a smiling photo opportunity and tell the world we have agreed to agree on what we have agreed.
What have we agreed on?
Our agreement to agree.

I assume the protestors don't believe the world's richest nations are doing enough to help the less fortunate. And that's probably putting it mildly.
Also, it wouldn't surprise me if these demonstrations aren't sabotaged by rent-a-mobs hired to make all anti-capitalists look like immoral, mindless thugs. Not that I am one, but I'm ever suspicious of how and why my world-view is being manipulated. Oh! Conspiracy.
