90% of me wants games to be unable to copy from and the 10% is just coz i think i shoulg get it for free. my point is however if we all stopped people from copying thats 1 less in the worl and this will hopefully show our support to the developers and if they beleive we are honest people wil reduce prices. i mean wouldn't u rather spend £20 on an ORIGINAL WITH FULL COLOUR GRAPHICS AND SOUND rather than £40 OR SO AND £5 for chipped mostly broken copies. Plus there is a new piravy agent being launched that is like the FBI and yet they are all gonna stop those warez and piracy people.WooHoo but sad i mean what if i wanted to download a mod for half-life they may thinks its a pirate copy.

Thanks, I'll check it out.

True, true. Sony have tried their best to make PS2's unchippable.

(I have Windows XP tho! ;))

Saesee check to see if your keyboard is setup as British and not American. I too had this problem.

Piracy is wrong. But now a days CD writers are cheap and a few can write through any copy right. If you try to copy Red Alert 2 in a normal writer you cant but in the new ones you can. I must admit I have in the past bought copied games and also download movies(The new American Cinema Releases), Friends Season 8 episodes e.t.c. I also know people who download games and other products. I always buy proper games now for my consoles. I have had a few games for my DC that are copied. The DC uses the 1gb discs but can still be copied. But with this the crackers have to sometimes take files out, so in effect the copy game is not the proper game.

Also when you own tons of games you dont actually care if you complete it or not. I own tons of PS1 games that I have only played for 1 hour. Parasite Eve 2 I got just over 1 hour through it died and couldnt be bothered to go back to it. When games only cost £5 you think well I'll get a few more games than normal. You get games that you wouldnt spend £35 on. I remember getting 6 games in 1 day. I also got 5 DC games in 1 day. Out of the 5 I played Crazy Taxi 2 for a few hours and then played on the others once and have never gone back. I you can only affored 1 game per month then you will play it for ages and complete it. Piracy is wrong and hopefully Console manuafacturers will be able to stop it so we can all be happy with offical games. But what about PC piracy. What if you had to fork out £90 for Windows XP instead of downloading it off the net. Or paying £40 for the essential anti-virus software. Would people also want that to stop? as other wise it would mean forking out £100's for the software that you use to download from an FTP for free.

if only we new for sure that prices would get reduced and if there was a way to stop the piracy peepz i reckon they may stop. i mean i used to be involved in piracy such as downloading games off net. but when it comes to install the games the installers created by the crackerz all say support the company so i think they too realise that if everyone stops prices will godown. then again i doubt piracy will evers top. if theres something to be copied it will be copied.

i agree that Piracy ruins it because they lose money to make other games

I agree also. But if there is something to campaign about, it's the price. UKGames offer low prices (compared to the 45 quid you have to pay in some big-name stores) but I think there should be a set price for all PS2 games (bar a few special releases, such as 2-disk extravaganzas or a MGS2 super-package)

My suggestion is that all PS2 games are $29.99 (please excuse the dollar sign, I've lost my pound keystroke)

Its all very well saying that games are expensive but remember the developers need to make a living, and there are often many many people that are part of the team that make the games. I know that the CD's themselves are very cheap to copy, but the money you spend does not just go to them, many other companys get the money too like the. Organistions that make the front cover, advertising ect all get a percentage of profit making, and so all the £40 you spend does not go direclty to the developers.

And remember, there are always going to be people who feel the need to buy cheap games that damages the industry, and the only way it will be stopped i feel, is when there is bad damage taken place within the industry. But the more of us that keep to the official products the better.

I agree with you.

But then again in the past i have been very much into piracy. Its only recently that i have stopped getting copies and i no longer even own any. It ruins the games for me.

I would rather have one full price game than 30 copies purely because of the fact i get 100% more enjoyment out of the game.

I am personally against piracy!
