Do you think the break is necessary? It means technically Who will be on for longer over the year and it'll be easier to plan holidays away from the UK around it ;) but it seems a bit strange.
Neil Gaiman writing episode 3 for this season sounds interesting too (him of Sandman, Coraline and co-author of the excellent Bad Omens fame)
Daniel Mays, who played the excellent nasty guy in Ashes to Ashes, is in episode 4.
I didn't mind the swords, though the headless monks were a bit silly.
What I wasn't overly keen on was the whole thing of the baby being given regeneration powers and having Timelord DNA as a result of being created while in the TARDIS and travelling in the Time Stream. I know the Timelords were supposed to have been given their regeneration powers as a result of the time stream (in the current universe), but it didn't really sit right.
The rest I enjoyed, but I wish for once they'd have a proper battle,. It's always; battle starts, cut to small conversation scene, battle is over already. Even going back to the Dalek/Cyberman war in London, it could have been so much bigger.
Last night's Sarah Jane was interesting but not as good as usual. Interesting to see that they've brought back the Alliance of Shades MIBs from the Doctor Who animated story Dreamland, including Mr Dread. Nice touch.
Ideally for me, this would fit in between the two parts of the series, however filming/editing schedules will no doubt screw this around.
That being said though, the first and last episodes of any given series are (usually) very good so this may mean less filler time. We'll have to wait and see though.
