Thank goodness for that. While Metal Gear Solid 2 was still in development about 6 months ago, Hideo Kojima let out a soundbite that made the world weep - this will be the final Metal Gear game. But at last, the man has seen sense (and possibly, a few million Yen) and has admitted the series must continue. In an internet interview, Kojima mentioned that the Metal Gear legend 'must live on in some form', but also suggested that he wouldn't be involved as director. He did say he would be involved in the initial planning of the game, but he would like a new director to take on Snake.
Kojima also spoke on his concern of how Metal Gear Solid 2 will be perceived by the public. After rushing to release the game in time for Christmas stateside, Hideo admitted some elements of the game were left out due to time constrictions. However, he revealed he would like to add these extra secrets to the Japanese version of the game, and hopefully, in the Euro version too. Kojima san, we salute you and your work, and may it live on for ever and ever in the hearts of gamers everywhere. Bring on February 22nd.
By the way. This is all my own work. Honest. Really.
