Went into Liverpool to get a broadband adaptor today, the only one they had in stock in Gamestation was 2nd hand. Bought the filthy piece of crap, it was £25 so I wasn't complaining.
Get it home, go to register the codey thing with Blueyonder, turns out the previous owner had already registered the crappy code with them so I gotta take the filthy piece of shi- back tomorrow and get a new one.
I swear, all this online gaming crap really is not worth the effort. It's too expensive and it takes a fu--in age to get it running.
Had to pay £12 out for a filthy Ethernet cable as well. Too expensive and too much of a feckin mission.
How can that be a bad thing?!?
And has anyone else noticed how Learn Direct's new logo looks just-like Gamestations??
I also heard one of the SkySports News presenters title a story "Special Reserves", a few days ago...

WRONG
For example: If you originally paid £40 for ISS 2, and GameStation gave you £12 for it, and you claim you paid an additional £20 for Fifa 2003, you have actually paid: (£40-£12)+£20=£48
£48 for Fifa 2003 isn't really that much of a bargain is it...
When I traded-in ISS 2, they gave me £12 off of FIFA 2003 - so I only payed around £20! :)
I've also bought a few pre-owned Dreamcast titles off them, for no more than a tenner.
I've never been to one of my local stores, though. I did it all over the phone, on mail-order. And every time I phone them, it's always the same nonced-up Northern bloke I'm speaking to with his "Yes, sir!" "Thank-you, sir!" and more! But their trade-in prices are good.
I was thinking of getting rid of some old Championship Manager games, and some cack N64 ones I have, which are just taking up space. And it will be with them, if I do.
Always look to trade-in your games, and not just exchange them for cash! You ALWAYS get slightly more money for trade-ins.
But I don't think Gamestation are to blame, here. You could've easily gone somewhere else. But on-line gaming is a waste-of-time.
Blockbuster offered to buy them so that Gamestation could expand, and so they did. Gamestation have opened more of their dull grey stores around the country using Blockbuster's money. However, they still run as a seperate firm. Blockbuster have very little, if anything at all, to do with Gamestation's running.
Maybe they should seek some advice from their new owners, after all if they're anything like my local store around the country, they'll be peed upon by other competitors very soon...
> You wont believe the amount of gamers that I had felt I had conned

I would! They offered me something like 60p per game on my PC titles. Annoying when you see the 2nd-hand PC games at several £££'s.
Still, I'd tried to sell them privately and couldn't... they hadn't sold on eBay either... so it was just a case of getting rid of them to create shelf-space for newer titles, and at least getting *something* for them!

Note: They give considerably less for cash.
Plus, when I was working there, I was once told to artifically lower the amount to give out in cash to try and change peoples minds into doing a trade...then I really felt like I was robbing people!
