Yeah, there are quite a few of us who'll envolve ourselves with basketball topics when they come along.
Maybe there should be a premanant basketball thread here?
Maybe not : )
I'd have to go with a lakers win. Others to watch out for -
Bucks to build on last year's success, plus Mason should contribute at the low post now. Don't know how long Cassel will go on for, but i've been saying that about Stockton and Malone for the last five years! Bucks to make the finals.
Dallas - a good squad with probably the best owner (Cuban) in the L! If the rumors about Malone shipping out of Utah do turn out to be true, either he'll bring real low post game to the team, or he'll fail without Stockton and retire asap.
Side note - if Karl does go, basketball in Utah is dead. Stockton's game without the pick and roll = old man who's shorts have cut off the circulation to his legs : ) Donyell Marshall, pack your bags!
Toronto - improved their roster on last year's playoff shock successes (the Dream) - expect good things in the post season.
Hornets - (my team) Hate to say it, but with little improvement over the summer (though maybe more balance), we've not improved much. Maybe we'll make noise if Mash and Coleman stay healthy, but no sweeping the Heat this year!
Lakers - Hate to say it, but there's still nobody to stop Shaq, and Kobe will stop him from having every defender on him! Even if the regular season is average, it's because they know they can win whenever they have to, and will still have another huge postseason.
Oh well, at least Kobe's new shoe is ugly : )
Clips for the postseason! Seriously!
