Whenever we make a website, look at it for the first time we all think it kicks ass??? Unless it is truly crap and the bad parts really stand out!

I know that I usually ask for about 5 people's opinions and look at it again....or maybe I just get bored easily.

But anyway.

I thought, how about, that if you have a website, and you are not quite shure about it and want more opinions, or you are just starting and have uploaded a certain style as a test and need opinions that we submit a site name here a people can copy the URL and past into their browsers and write a comment in this topic bout what they think of site:

www.some1sname.com!

I know that I have just started rebuilding my site since, I hated the bland grey look so I have changed it a bit.

Just to get started.

What do u think about the first page of my site. I would really like some opinions.

P.S I already know about the 2 missing flash buttons and the banner next to the logo

Yes. As long as none of your SRC have any links to your hard drive you should be fine.

Oh because I thought that because I had all the pictures and stuff stored on my computer it would be different. Becuase I spoke to someone from this forum on MSN and they said that one of the pictures wasn't working but it showed up on my computer.

But that might be because the src was a link from my Hard Drive??

I just re-changed my site and uploaded it!

Take a look at http://www.f2ssdt.f2s.com/ , http://luke.ac6.org/webtech/ and http://www.gamespot.com/ . All those have or used to have backgrounds that worked really well with the site. If you want an idea what NOT to do, get off to http://www.webpagesthatsuck.com/ . I bet at least 70% of the sites there have bad backgrounds, it's the most common mistake. Webpages can look extremely nice with just a plain backgrounds. As Lawrence says, everyone hates textures.

That's correct, but from a design point of view I'd advise against using backgrounds, unless they are really, really subtle.
