Johnny Depp stars as George Jung in this true story of the man that brought cocaine to America in the 60s.
Thouroughly enjoyed every moment of this one.
I spotted several shots nicked from Boogie Nights (the close-up freeze frame on drug-switch moments etc) and a few from Martin Scorcese, but this still rocked.

2hrs, not a moment wasted, no flab and Depp once more proving that he makes quality films and is an amazing actor to watch. Penelope Cruz is good and Ethan Suplee (Kevin Smith fav) plays a bloke called Tuna.

DVD is excellent, with deleted scenes and best of all, an interview with the real George Jung in prison. Talking about his life, the movie, what he thought of it etc etc.
Really odd to watch Depp for 2hrs then see the real-deal.
And it's uncanny how close he got to Jung, in voice, appearence etc.

100% recommendation for this one from me.
Funny, dramatic, poignant, no "Drugs are Bad" message, loads of shifty Colombians and the best portrayal of Pablo Escobar I've seen yet.

If you liked Boogie Night/Scarface/Goodfellas/Casino then watch this one, just as good.

I thought it didn't really know where it was going.. It gets to a point where Depp has decided to kick the drugs and verges on a "Drugs are bad" message and then suddenly decides that he is a sad lonely guy with no daughter.

I liked the accurate portrayal of the cocaine fattiness though, over the course of the film. And I keep wondering what his daughter would have said when she saw the closing postscript to the film:
"His daughter has still not visited him"

The juries still out on Blow for me, but I think it trashes Traffic as a drugs movie.
