Ok, you want to go out on a Friday night, but you have no money. You're stuck. Or are you? If you buy Pub Stumbler, you can recreate that friday night out in faithful detail.

The game takes place in the first person, and you have a whole city to explore - GTA3 stylie. The game is actually run over 2 real days. You do the main part of the game on the friday night, and then the sceondary part on the saturday morning.

You start the game at the pub. You virtual "friends" (who you can name from the people in you Outlook address book) are all sitting around drinking. You join them. They chat away, the converstaion starting failrt normally, such as "Did you watch the football?" etc, delving onto more drunken pastimes such as "How much would we need to give you, for you to pull Big Helga?"

As you progress through the game, the screen gets increasingly blurred, in relation to the amount you have to drink (the amount you have to drink is actually the difficulty level - more on that later).

The evening lasts across several pubs, all in real time. In fact, the only difference between it and a real night out is that you're being a complete loser and staying in doors with no real friends. A joke, of course.

When the evening ends, you go for the obligatory kebab, and then home to bed.

When you wake up, the next part of the game begins. To start with, if you have bought the Smell-oscopic Radiation Flibble Machine (er, it's a little box you plug into the mains - Ed.) you can awake to the authentic smell of: cigarettes, stale alchohol, sweat, and chilli sauce.

Also, if you have purchased the handy Brain Simulation Simulator (it's a big fist, with a boxing glove on - Ed.) then you can also have a realistic hangover, all in relation to the amount of drink you had the night.

You are then asked question about the previous night. The more questions you get correct, the higher your score.

This is where the difficulty level comes in. The more you drink, the more blurred the screen gets, also, the bigger hangover you have the next day, so it's harder to get more questions correct.

Finished version will also have an online high score table, so you can see how you compare with the rest of the world.

I like the idea. Would there be a console port available with multiplayer? This would be ideal for people with real friends but no real money.

Add the international drinking rules to the pub tour, and you're onto a sure fire winner!

"Unfortunately, you forgot to EG again. You must bolt your next pint"

Add a pool table in the pub, to go with the blurred vision - complete with the obligatory 7-ball penalty.
