What's in between the atoms in the air?

Not air ... but nothing.
Must be - just nothing, not a thang, emptiness.

Some people have a problem with that, it supposedly freaks them out.
But they're (you're) probably snoopy little gits who need to know everything.

Meh, knock yourselves out.

You can't exactly use a scanning electron microscope on the air, methinks. You might be able to, though.

Hmm... what about the diseases/spores/smells etc etc. Though, they normally come in the form of molecules, mind.

I think that there is something still there, inside the gaps between them, but they are far smaller than what any microscope or high-precision electrical gizmo can show.

It'd be more than solid, as there's still space between atoms in Solids, and they vibrate. yup.
