*Everybody makes mistakes*
Now, I am an Arsenal fan, and I laughed when I saw Barthez makes those silly mistakes which saw Arsenal go 3-1 up and win the match. At this point, I was happy, because Arsenal had won.
But then I thought, I wonder how he felt when he actually made those mistakes. Just imagine it. I bet as soon as that second Arsenal goal went in, he got butterflies in his stomach. He probably felt stupid, and wondered what will happen when he walks into the changing rooms with all of his other teammates and his manager.
And then, he makes another mistake and another silly goal is scored. Now, I bet he feels even worse.
I do feel that Barthez is a good keeper and was playing well before those mistakes. But, as soon as those mistakes were made, everybody was taking the mick, and it was plastered all over the paper.
I'd be lying if I didn't give Man U fans stick for his mistakes, but what you and I need to think about is that every goal keeper has made mistakes, and every defender, midfielder and striker has made mistakes too, and just how much pressure is on each player, especially the keeper, who is responsible for making sure that the other team doesn't score. And let's not forget that the defense wasn't exactly brilliant.
EVERYBODY MAKES MISTAKES
It's a fact of life!
