Since the server upgrade newly loaded avatars are not showing.
They are uploaded to the directory ok - with permission 600 unless I manually chmod each file in the avatar directory to 755 the file doesn't show on the viewtopic pages.
Is anyone else running phpBB2 having the same trouble?
I have posted on the phpBB2 support forum as well, so if I receive a reply there I'll copy it here in case it helps anyone.

This is probably because the images are being set with the web server PHP being the owner, which defaults to 0600. You could try modifying the phpBB image upload file the chmod the image once it's uploaded.
Just run chmod($the_uploaded_image, 0755);. That would save you a lot of time changing permissions.

Over the years I've become very jaded after many bad experiences with customer services, you have bucked the trend. Polite and efficient from the Freeola team, well done to all involved.
Brilliant service.
Love it, love it, love it!
