I got my PS2 about 6 months ago now and I am thoroughly pleased but with the Gamecube and X-Box coming soon I wonder if I will get any of them.
When I get a console, there is usually a big time gap between the purchases. Now the really annoying thing is if my dad asks me next year
"X-Box or Gamecube?"
I have read so many reviews, and seen so many pictures, also my constantly stoned brother who's broke say's that he is going to get everything.
So I leave the question and my fate in your hands,
X-Box or Gamecube?

Yes, that my be true, but the look doesn't make the console does it?!
This is just a question you will have to find an answer for yourself. It is a matter of opinion, not a question of who is wrong and who is right.
Because....
well it depends on your age. If you like adult orientated games then it'll suit you down to the ground. But it caters for the younger generation too with Shrek.
It's designed by gamers for gamers, so the one thing in its favour is the gameplay. Another is its sheer power. Another is the huge range of quality titles available for it already. Another is HALO, probably one of the best shooters to hit the market in years. Another is its online capabilities and DVD capabilities.
If you like games that you can buy on a Friday and finish on a Sunday then get a Gamecube. Bear in mind that Nintendo have ALWAYS put profit before players. They've always had more expensive games, they've always managed to upset developers like SQUARE SOFT (boy did you guys miss out because of the N64 cartridge fiasco), and within a few days of the US release of the cube, they announce that they are changing the way they make games altogether.
