Hardcore/Softcore?
There has been quite a few topics telling you if you are a hardcore gamer or softcore, or what makes a hardcore gamer or a softcore. I am just going to give you my definitions and my view on all this Hardcore/Softcore lark.
Hardcore:
A hardcore gamer gets the hardcore “Title” in my view, by spending all his/her money on games or games related products. They usually want to work with computers when they grow up and could well be classed as a “Nerd”. The name “Nerd” Is usually given to a person because they are good at their work and they enjoy computers. They normally have few friends, and the friends they have are usually like them, they like their computers.
A hardcore gamer spends all or nearly all of his time playing with something to do with games. Normally. A hardcore gamers daily routine is getting up, playing on a game, going to school, coming home and playing on games only stopping for food or other “Natural” causes. Usually in a really tense part of a game. Making you stop, and go to the toilet. Thus leaving you nice and refreshed but getting you out of you gaming “mood”.
Hardcore gamers spend most of their other time either working for money to buy a new game or a game related product. Along the lines of memory cards, magazines and other gaming products. They are always thinking about a new game or console or trying to pass the time to get home to finish that blinkin’ level.
Their room has pictures of their favourite character or characters. They usually have a gaming “Shrine” with their numerous consoles “In” the shrine. A shrine consists of usually more than one console and a whole stack of games and some kind of nice telly and speakers to beef up the sound and a big fat nice comfy black leather chair. Just for show of course :o). Its that whole gaming/money thing. Money+Time+Hardcore Gamer=Spend all money on games. :o)
A hardcore gamers shrine will not be entered by anyone except the “Master”. An unwanted guest will usually involve random beatings and loads of cursing used. The “Victim” will run away from shock. You will say “At least I have my prized processions” and will be followed by stroking of the prized objects.
The victim will be crying in his house. While you are busy hammering on his/her front door because you want revenge. :-D
Softcore:
A softcore gamer or a casual gamer will have one of the most popular consoles and will have usually more money than sense. (1p then ;o) ) A softcore gamer plays games when he/she wants to and will go for weeks on end without even touching a game. This is unheard of in the hardcore community.
A softcore gamer will play games with only slight determination and will use cheats. He/she will play the game for a while then they will just say
“PAH!, this game is way to hard!”
*Enters Cheats*
Then will blag about how hard he/she had to work to get those cheats. Which everyone in the softcore community is denying that they do.
Softcore gamers are the Hardcore gamers hater. The Hardcore gamers will look upon the Softies and disgrace them as scum, fakers, women :o) And words along those lines.
A Softie will spend only spare money or found money on games because they have better things to buy, like clothes and sweets and presents for their Girl/Boyfriends. (Ohh nice :oP)
Softies are the Hardcore wannabies. They want to be a Hardy but without the hassle of building a shrine and all that other hard work like moving you fingers and using your head to work out a puzzle :o). Which, a softie will just use cheats to get past.
Softies will have their own group of friends. Each are as soft as each other. Helping each other get softer and weaker. They are feeding off each other.
I however feel different.
In the gaming world people are classed closely to these “Rules”. You are either a Softie. Or a Hardy, there is no inbetweenyhardsoft.
If you know what I’m on about ;o)
I am both, I am one of those inbetwe……. One of those word above people :-). I will play games hardcore and softcore. If I feel like hammering a game and spending all day on it I will. But if I don’t feel like it, I will just spend a few precious moment of my life on it. I can say for most of us we are this type of…. Player. An inbe….. I am not even going to say it :oP
So many people and gamers are classed along rules. Rules, bleedin’ rules.
Don’t play by the rules, be different...

On a serious note, you must have to be quite softcore if you use cheats BEFORE you complete the game(s), Cheats are for people with no skill :P
