In the USA anyway....

Taken from Cube-Europe: -

"Nintendo will be giving out demo discs on May 25th in the United States. How this will be done (could it possibly be connected to the new bundle?), or what games will be included on this software is unknown.

This new marketing tactic will definetely help the growing number of people that recently purchased a GameCube in the States discover new games, thanks to the "Console and free game bundle" for only $149.95. The games available in this offer so far are: The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, Metroid Prime, Star Fox Adventures, or Mario Party 4.

Maybe this will be the start of a new policy by Nintendo that will permit magazines and media to distribute demo discs, a privilege that the other two next-generation consoles already have."

Wonder if NOE will release one in Europe?

NOE will never do anything as good as that. What they'll do is put an add in an obscure magazine, something like 'My Favourite Colour Toilet Roll Weekly' and then expect everyone to see it! As for a demo disk, Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha, What would anyone want a demo disk for? They'll ask? And that'll be that! And then when the Gamecube fails altogether in Europe they'll sit back and ask "What did we do wrong"?

*slowly ignoring N64 4 EVA*

Anyway....

I sincerely hope Nintendo of Europe bring us Brits the demo discs, that way gamecube owners can play trial versions of games, that they may not have been even considering buying.

I hope.

The thing is how many people do you know (ps2 owners) that actually use the demo discs? Most I know just sling them as soon as they open the mag unless there's a real good demo of say an unreleased game.

It depends on the games on the demo - most demos I leave well alone, but then I play some of my demos regularly. I've played Burnout and Smash Court Tennis demos more than I've played some of my actual games!
