No they won't that is why there is such a huge demand for consoles these days.
Many PC users hate consoles thinking they are a waste of time as the PC is better than any other systems out there. But the fact is that the majority of people like their consoles.
PCs are great yes. They are brilliant for everything - surfing the web, copying CDs, playing games, doing work and researching yet there are some things it cannot offer.
PCs these days are quite expensive. The average computer costs about £700 onwards if you want a decent one and some people can't afford these. A PS2 in comparison is only £200 - much cheaper and can provide games and entertainment. Sure it cannot offer some of the things a computer can but if you are just after gaming these consoles are ideal.
Also PCs can be a lot of hassle to most console owners. Most console owners are used to hassle free gaming - stick a game into the console, load it, play it, turn it off and turn it back on whenever you want too.
On the other hand PCs can crash ("Explorer as encountered a fatal error bla bla bla", blue screens of death, frozen screen - why isn't my mouse working when I am clicking so hard!!), they can have problems such as graphics card problems ("cannot create 3d device" I have had many times) and of course you have to install your games before you play (and wait a few minutes for Windows to load up).
Compatibilities another thing that can put you off. If I buy a PS2 game I know it is going to work when I put it in the PS2. I have the PS2 and I have a controller - it will work. However with PC Games you can never be completely sure. I have bought games in the past which don't work with certain graphics cards (many people less advanced in computer knowledge will have no idea how to install their own graphics card so they will be put off buying games for their PCs). And then there are processor speeds, and memory requirements resulting in slow running games and then there are OS problems, for example I bought Rainbow 6 and it won't work with Windows 2000 for some reason.
I know many people who are just put off the concept of PC gaming and use their consoles for "hassle-free" gaming and their PCs for work and internet. If you know what you are doing with the PC and have a really good PC that runs every game, has the best graphics card, memory and processor, the PC is for you. If you haven't got a clue what to do with a PC when it won't run your games, and just don't want the hassle a PC can give you a console is for you.
Also how many times do you put your monitor and computer in a bag and take it round your friends house. I can never say I've done that but a PS2 fits quite nicely into my bag so I can take it wherever I want. That's another thing that makes consoles so nice - portability.
At the end of the day if you want to start playing a game within one minute that is fast, fun and most importantly works without any problems like sudden crashes and compatibility problems then a console in a godsend. But if you want power and a great gaming experience and have a good computer a PC is brilliant.
So YES Max Payne should be released on the PS2 and XBox. And YES some people believe or not will want to play it and buy it. And YES I like PCs and prefer them to consoles but at other times there is nothing better then to lie on the end of my bed and stick a game in my PS2.
So to get the games again, I'd have to fork out either £100 on a new gfx card for this PC or get them for nothing by claiming them as GADs.
And of course not every gamer has a PC.
WHY?
Personally I will be getting Half Life and Deus Ex because although I've played them on PC my PS2 is a lot more accessable for gaming, and the graphics aren't really that much different going by the demos I've seen for them.
Depends on your graphics card really.
