What's the deal with this?

Normal resi, but with first-person shooting?

Is it the actual original resi game? With a gamecube-style graphical make-over?
And more importantly, is it any good?

It's called Resident Evil Gun Survivor 4: Dead Aim, so yes, it is a Gun Survivor game.

You can move in first person but apparently it changes to first person during combat. Or something like that. Completely original storyline and new cast, no connection to the first (apart from the Umbrella corp.). It looks alright from what I've seen, I could post links to news and screens if you want.

Ah well, I'll be keeping an eye out for it, see how it works out.

It just looks like one of the "Gun Survivor" series they had - where you'rein 1st person but can actually move around using the pad on the back of the gun.

Could be interesting ... but my bets are that it won't work and turn out pretty clunky and annoying.
