I would like to suggest my idea of a good console in the future of gaming. If anybody wants to "upgrade" my idea, please feel free.

1. My console would be called Ultima-Net-Cast.
2. The console will have a AMD Kathlon 7 p733. I know its very generous for a console but it will be able to handle all textures thrown at it.
2. My choice of a graphics card would be the Geforce 2 GTS with 32mb of RAM dedicated to buffering and pixel framte rate, giving a smooth gaming experience.
3. Although the console would mainly be served as a net console, modems are optional. I would make sure that in the design, there will be a Comms port. Or for the newer modems, a USB port. That way people who buy the Console can attach their own modems. There will be a large database of drivers, or you can download your driver from the manfactures dite on to a memory card.
4. The Console its self will be very simular to IE5 or Netscape browsing icons at the top of the screen. And mouse will be supplied.
5. A free ISP called Ultima-net (not too flashy :0) will support the consoles net option. This connects to the LAN server and will be compatable with fibre optic connection modems.
6. Games will be brought, but the majority will be freeware where the gamer downloads upgrades when issued of that game. The more you play online, the more loyalty points you recieve for free gifts. The cost will be a penny a minute if you play the freeware games, but free if you play a brought game. Games will be priced £45.
7. Like many ISPs, a 2 hour connection limit will be issued for the player. When your time expires, you can simply re-connect or wait in a que for it.

Remember, this is only a bit of fun. So all yo gaming fraks, dont go all hypo on my erorrs or mis-use of technical words.

i don't get the 32 megs of ram?? why so little, by the time this came out everything you mentioned will be old, and you could get some higher quality and faster stuff for just a little more money, maybe by the time you produce this console there might even be virtual equipement, and you might even be able to use Minidiscs, or some other format, maybe dvds will still be the best i don't know.

Yeah, AMDs have been unreliable and incompatible in the past, but that may not matter for a console. Still good idea! Not very practical or profitable, do you mean you get most games free completely? that wont sell to companies so developers might be scarce. It's kinda like a X-Box 2 thing then? Some nice thinking, wishful, but nice... ahh if only it could be true!

Can it have a video output thingy so it will connect to a monitor? Oh yeah and of course four controller inputs. I think it should use an intel though, I don't trust AMD for some reason.
