Yes. 'Twins' are defined as coming from the same pregnancy, not the same birthday.

My mum is actually a twin, but it was just a silly thought I had today when I was at the hospital with my girlfriend for her scan. She says the same as you guys, which is true. But how rare would it be for twins not to share the same birthday?
It's probably more common than you think. Would be interesting to find the stats though.
I'm sure I read something in the paper or heard on the news once about twins born many years apart.
