Viewed as the poor cousin to consoles, set top boxes is taking a giant step foward so I have heard, NTL are releasing a broadband digital service. So far, fourteen content providers have signed up, traditional games from Infograms and Crition Fiendish games to the internet. A game coming out for this technology is going to be called Castle Conquors should be able to support 100 players in two teams, low detail sprite graphics they maybe, but just imagine the fun of playing against 100 people. You will be able to control the game which is a first person shoot em up by using infa red keyboard. Even though these boxes are only the equivalent to a p75 with 8mb of RAm, it should be pretty cool. And becuase the technology is broadband, it will be upto a 100 times faster than a conventional home modem. And because the modems can run at excellent speeds, you can run them in real time servers, is this the nxt generation of gaming? Well it sure looks like a good contender!
