The PS2 is going back to the older days where programming games, where the developer is really going to have to understand the hardware and the tricks needed to get the very best out of it. That is not going to happen too quickly. So, apart from the Sony-developed games, which will have a head start on everything else, it will be the second- and even third- generation products that will really show off the power of the system. And in the meantime the PC and the X-box are making rapid advances in power. The new graphics cards and the new processors for the next year will enable the PC to do so much more than the PS2. Even now the PS2 has a tough job competing with the graphic quality of the PC titles.
