It should be a game...

Own your own pub!

The concept:

No last orders here with administration, a pinch of style and grammar and helium inflated prices, your pub could be the next boozers hideaway!

The Pitch:

You've inherited a fortune from your dear old granny, and you want to run a local. Rather than deciding to buy the ready made 'brown café', it's your decision to buy the land, drinks and employ the staff to make one big heap of money.

You could build a long bar, or a short one. Many glasses, cash tills and even soft drinks. Depending on which area you're in, demands for different types of booze start to occur. With only a limited number of drinks to be stored in your pub, you pick from a vast list. Employ a spy to check the prices of other locals and beat them at their own game.

Add a kitchen, and a restaurant section - then employ a chef. Decide to sell highly salted snacks? Then there's less space for the number of alcohol related beverages you can store to sell. Tell your staff to spend a weeks training at a licensed school - all at your expense, of course.

Add a pool table, games machines and a dart board, and set up a local team (or even import internationals). Watch as the punters put their money into the slots and end up trying to drown their sorrows with an array of rum and scotch.

Add a second floor, and become an inn as well. Advertise on different TV channels and in the local newspapers to boost the punters - and introduce talent nights, general knowledge quizzes or international talent. Gain a licence to show Sky Sports and enjoy a full house on the night of big games. Employ regular pest control to get rid of kitchen vermin like disease carrying rats and creepy cockroaches to keep away the Health and Safety commission. What about bouncers to control the undesirables what try to walk through the door? Float on the Stock exchange, or buy your rivals pubs and manage more than one at once.

One main constraint is the fact that you'll feel really annoyed with yourself if you try to play it while intoxicated! Options should include speed settings, changeable within the gameplay. At the start you can choose certain options on or off, like drink decisions, stock intake or the stock exchange.

Pinpointed, this game would be ideally made by Bullfrog (the team that makes the 'Theme' series) using the design engine of Theme Hospital, options like Theme Park, and owning multiple from Theme Park World.

Advantages:

No ‘Time please, Gentlemen’!
Walk around your perfect pub
Play your own slots

Disadvantages:

Health & Safety could ruin you
Arson
Other local rival gangs could bust you up

I also thought of a good 'THEME' game called 'Theme prison/jail'.
In this you make a jail completely from scratch, in the jail the prisoners must be in OK health, but they also are not allowed to escape(Obvious)and to stop this you research into making security(like in t-hospital you research medical treatments) like in you're idea i would include the saftey and health inspectors, and also sometimes a suprise visit from the judge to check up on the prisoners.

But thats not all of it (can't be bothered to put it all up as there is soo much).

One more thing i emailed Bullfrog about my idea and the BAST**DS would not mail me back it was just a technical support reply.

Anyway you're idea sounds great!!
