I loved American Pie and when I found out there was a sequel in the works I had to see it. I guess the comedy style of the first movie was really good and different to all the other teen movies coming out at the time. I don’t know but the thought of a guy trying to get it on with a pie really intrigued me! Then when I heard pie has been replaced with crazy glue I was even more intrigued. The first movie was a huge hit and I think it was obvious that this one would be too. I just knew it would be huge when I saw the poster for it!

Sequels aren’t as good as the first and that’s most probably always the case. I don’t know why but I much preferred this one to the first. I personally felt like there was much more going on unlike the first movie. The kids decide to go somewhere for the summer instead of staying in East Great Falls which results in loads of laughs. Unlike most sequels, all the characters from the first movie came back in this one, which is quite rare. I was really glad all the characters came back. Even if just one were missing the movie probably wouldn’t feel the same. Even the little characters like Chuck Sherman came back which I think is really good. What would this movie be without the Sherminator?

Basically everyone went to college and one whole year has passed and summer has arrived. Everyone is going home for the holidays, which means partying for 6 whole weeks. Anyway the guys; Jim, Kevin, Chris, Finch and Stifler all meet up to go home. The partying is always at one person’s house and that’s Stifler’s house. I guess they think they’re going to spend the whole summer chilling out at Stifler’s joint until the cops come and break it up, meaning the guys have got absolutely nothing to do.

Kevin decides to phone his brother and ask for his advice like he does in the first movie. Anyway he advises Kevin and his friends to rent a summer house on the beach and just chill. Kevin’s brother claims it was the best summer of his life so he should try and do the same. Kevin tells the guys his plan and they all agree to go, as there’s nothing going on in East Great Falls. There’s just one little problem. Finch works out that this is going to cost them a bomb and they can’t really afford to go so Kevin (without the other guys permission) asks Stifler (the party animal) if he wants to come and he does. Not so good for Finch, as Stifler just wants to beat him up, after he caught Finch and his mum doing some very perculiar acts on the pool table.

The guys haven’t got much to do, but Jim has to prepare for his little "meeting" with the one called Nadia. He totally blew it with her in the first one, which happened to air on the Internet and the whole town managed to see it. He remembers the only girl who knows if he’s any good is Michele - the Band Camp geek. Anyway, he decides to go to her Nand camp and ask her what she thought of him. She is shocked to see him but comes out with it. He sucked but the nice geek she is, she decides to give him some pointers on how he can improve.

While the guys are renting the house, they decide to paint a house for some extra cash. Stifler (the pervert that he is) believes the two occupants are lesbians and this causes a lot of laughs. The lesbians will "perform" but only if the guys do something first. Stifler, Jim and Finch sneak in so it’s them who have to do something in order to see the lesbians "do it".

At the same time, Kevin is having lots of feelings for his ex-girlfriend Vicky whilst she wants to be friends and Oz is keeping in touch with Heather Via phone as she goes to Paris for the summer to study.

Jason Biggs was brilliant as Jim - he was just so funny. Only he could play the part of misunderstood Jim! He made me laugh and I think he acted really well in this movie. Chris Klein is really funny in this movie and you can’t help going "Awww". Thomas Ian Nicholas was really good as Kevin. He was funny but his character isn’t really that interesting. Eddie Kaye Thomas was weird in this movie but good. He was strange but funny when he kept waiting for Stifler’s mum to turn up. A good performance. Stifler. What can you say about this guy? I love him! He’s absolutely hilarious! He is just so funny. This guy is guaranteed to make you laugh out loud! Alyson Hannigan played the part of Michelle really well. She was just so weird but likeable. I think she did a great job on playing the character. Shannon Elizabeth was good at playing Nadia and did the accent of wherever she was meant to be from really well. Tara Reid played Vicky really well. Vicky is so sweet and she did a good job at playing the part. Definitely a likeable character. Natasha Lyonne plays Jessica who doesn’t really come in the movie for very long but still she is quite good when she is being funny. Mena Suvari doesn’t really come in the film for long but is still as sweet as she was in the last movie, but seems to have come out of her shell quite a bit. Eugene Levy played the part of Jim’s dad brilliantly. He was just hilarious! This is one character you don’t mind watching because whatever he says is usually just so funny!

What I really liked about this movie was the fact that all the characters returned. Even if they were only in it for 5 minutes I was still glad that everyone was there. This really does make this film better than most sequels. I really liked the fact that this movie had a lot more going on than the first one. The fact that Jim goes to Band Camp was really funny. I am glad that they actually went somewhere, which makes it different from the first. The soundtrack for this movie is also really good and definitely worth listening to. The advantages for the guys are Shannon Elizabeth, Tara Reid, Natasha Lyonne, Alyson Hannigan and the lesbians - need I go on?

I think a disadvantage for this movie would probably be that some of the characters are only in it for 5 minutes. I know the story was about Jim and his 3 best mates but I would have loved it even more if the other characters were a bit more involved. Also, the storyline is a bit unrealistic but that’s not a bad thing in this case I guess. I guess another disadvantage is the fact that there’s no pie, but then again, there is a "just as funny, makes you cringe" replacement.

The soundtrack for this movie is really good. I expected it to be really good as in the movie there were some really good songs playing. The soundtrack includes songs by Green Day, Blink 182, Alien Ant Farm, Sum 41, Uncle Cracker and loads more. Worth listening to. Some of these songs were in the movie. Now when I listen to any of these songs I just remember the scene the song was playing in!

I really enjoyed this movie and am so glad I was able to get into the cinema to see it (despite my age - cinema attendants these days!). It was definitely worth watching. It's funny and I don’t think it’s as dirty as the first one, which is a good thing or a bad thing, it depends which way you look at it. It’s got the same comedy as the first but it’s got more going on which makes it funnier. To be honest, I wasn’t really expecting much, I mean sequels don’t really live up to the first parts but this one did and that’s what’s so great about it. When I saw the poster it seemed like a really fun film and that’s exactly what I felt like seeing. I’d recommend it to anyone but I think older teens would definitely enjoy this. One thing that is important though is to watch the first movie. If you haven’t seen it, I really recommend you do as some of the jokes are connected to the first film. I recommend you go with a mate or a bunch of them but whatever you do don’t go with the parents! You’ll only cringe! This film is definitely worth watching!
