same question, with just a little twist to people who already have a full time job. What is your job, is it whjat you wanted to do, is there something else you want to do?
I want to work on some kind of magazine, hopefully a playstation one as you have to be intrested and enjoy what you do, if you want to do it well.
BUT, scuba diving is what I do with my time when I'm not watching films. I started five years ago, and I'm currently in a part time job I hate in order to get the money I need to learn how to teach. So I hope to be a marine biologist or a scuba diving instructor. Any of the futures I want to happen would be just peachy.
I've wanted to go into the games business for ages, this thought in my mind that I'm going to make games in my own company. La de da.
I hate coding, can't stand it... but that's probably something to do with me not doing a hell of a lot of it, and not really learning at a very fast pace.
What I do enjoy, however, is design. Modelling characters, level design, animation, stuff like that. Anything visual. I've been doing it since January time, and I still really enjoy doing it. I'm actually beginning to get good now as well, which is odd.
I wrote to Rareware nearing January, explaining how dedicated I was to going into the games business as a 3D artist, and asking if work experience was possible. They said no, and offered me a job instead when I left school.
Since then I started doing the Fog Story animations, which I blag about at every chance I have. I wanted to animated some of the stories we wrote on here for personal reasons I suppose, as well as the fact that it would set me up a great portfolio for when I needed it.
I wrote a letter recently too, and the same still applies, so quite likely to have an interview August/September time next year.
