In my opinion, Nintendo's biggest problem to overcome is third party support. With the PSX being the best selling console ever (ok- so I'm not counting handhelds), the PS2 has bandwagons of developers. In Spaceworld, Nintendo will only stand a chance if they can show games that have variety, and this is only possible with third party support. To quote Peter Moore, head of Nintendo America, about the N64 before it's launch:
"At first nintendo will not allow other developers to make games for the platform. This is absurd."
We all know that this decision by nintendo ended with the company almost going the same way as Sega did with the Saturn. 3 months after the N64's release only 4 games were out. This was combined with the fact tha the the N64 came out a year after the PSX- much like the situation with the Dolphin and PS2.
So, will Nintendo hit big this time? I guess we'll find out next week.
