I bought Ut2k3 quite a while away but havent been able to play it yet but i'm thinking of selling it and getting Battlefield so i can play desert Combat.
Desert Combat is a great mod, it really does add a new dimension to Battlefiled 1942 much more than just reskinning the current vehicles. It is much harder to fly the new jets and helicopters though, but the ground units and new troop abilities do make up for it.
Definatly worth trying out if you Battlefiled, but if you don't than you could try waiting until the retail version is released, although I'm not sure how far away the release is.

The star wars mod coming out for ut2003 will be mind blowing.
:S I found the Battlefiled demo hard i couldn't fly properly :D
i recommend ut2k3 - fast paced, top of the line physics and graphics, and most of all, great fun if you get into it, and not only that but it's not too hard.

ut2k3 takes just as long if not longer to type in as ut2003 and looks so stupid...
only prob is. there's gonna quite a few mods on the new unreal engine.
