I found a light switch, and was able to turn off the light.
Trouble was I couldn't find the switch again, and had to wander around in the dark for a bit until I saw some light coming from a window in a door, and I was able to escape my gaming stupidy.
Here's to stupidity in games!
2hrs I spent.
Then I figured it out.
Gah
Me and Hooplah are the Dons of Dullard.
I'm a reasonably intelligent person and he's an analytical research chemist - but stick us in front of a video game and we stare blankly before "Ook! Ook!" and run about for hours looking for a way to solve the puzzle, only for it to be right in front of us.
We always, and I mean ALWAYS do this.
Spent 2hrs trying to find a way past a door on Tomb Raider.
We went back through the level, looked for switches, pulleys, reloaded from a previous save and combed through the stuck-there level and got angry.
Downloaded a walkthrough and what are you supposed to do?
Walk up to it and it opens automatically.
I cried like a big girl and we slapped each other for being such toeheads.
On WWF No Mercy, I held the analogue stick down in order to taunt and boost my attitude meter.
The match had just started and neither of us had taken damage yet.
While I was taunting, my opponent grabbed my into a submission hold. No big deal, I'd break free after a second.
So I held down the analogue stick so i could taunt the moment he let go.
He never did let go.
It turned out that while you're holding down the analogue stick, you stay knocked out/in a hold/or even pinned down.
I lost the game through one submission move.
It was a co-operative game.
My brother turned off the light leaving me halfway up the ramp completely lost (as it was the first time I'd ever played the game!).
I'm trying to think of some other stupid things that have been done. There's countless times but none of them come to mind right now...
I did that lightswitch thing too.
