The opening tack, "The Wicker Man" is quite a catchy number. It's not the usual "in your face" opening track that a lot of bands tend to start off with. Some nice double bass drumming happening here. The second track, "Ghost of the Navigator", starts of slow, much like most of the material from Maiden but really get's into gear with a riff similar to Ozzy Ozzborne's "I don't know". The third track and also the title track is "Brave New World". It's not bad, but so far, I think it's the weakest song on the disc. The fourth song is "Blood Brothers". This is my pick for the best track on here, probably my favorite song from them since "Powerslave", but I have not heard much of Maiden, compared to the ammount that they've released. The bass is incredible, as well as Bruce Dickinson's vocals. It's got a lot of mood and feel, I love it. The fifth track is "The Mercenary". This track is very powerful, with a hard drum beat and loud guitars. The sixth track is "Dream of Mirrors", not a bad track, which get's interesting toward the end. The seventh track is "The Fallen Angel" This song is the hardest one on the disc and also one of the best - actually it's right up there with the Maiden classics. The eighth track is "The Nomad", I like this one quite a bit. It's very epic- sounding with a middle eastern feel. The ninth song is "Out Of The Silent Planet", which is average and kind of reminded me of some of the garb on the last couple of albums. The 10th and final track is "The Thin Line Between Love And Hate". I love this song, with quite a bit happening here on this one. The perfect closer for such a great CD. Overall, I think this is the best album they've done since Powerslave. Maiden has really matured and it's one of those discs that really grows on you the more you listen to it.
I'm only 13 myself and I know that a lot of people my age don't listen to Iron Maiden, but what ever age you are, whatever your musical preference, I recommend "Brave New World" as the Iron Maiden album to purchase. I don't know if you can still get it now, but I've had it for years and made the mistake of only begginning listening to them now.
