Some new Xbox magazine just landed in the office, has a page with screenshots showing off the graphical power of the console. Except the screenshot they used was the one from Amped that they showed about 8 months ago ie. the one that was faked in Photoshop and well documented by everyone.

Professional journalism at its best. Monkeys.

Xsux's all right. The console itself is huge and powerful, so if Microsoft were so determined of its success why are they showing dud photos?

That only says one thing to me, it's crap!

Ahh, so THAT's where you “copy” your screenshots from!

I think it's from film culture, making us believe that X is in fact a special letter.

All the greatest projects were called X. It's got four lines of symmetry, and can be drawn with two brisk strokes.

It's often used as the mark of death, which I find ironic. :0)

A very good point, Grix.

Incidentally, what is it with Microsoft and the letter X?

The problem being though, why did Microsoft program in error messages to begin with?

If they had actually bothered to make a decent console operating system, they wouldn't have needed them.

I like the size of the new Xbox magazine box, sets the tone for things to come perfectly, big and pointless.......

What amuses me about that is, where as other consoles usually fail due to faulty hardware (blown fuses in the PS2 power supply, dodgy disc drives etc.) which can be replaced/repaired, this is clearly a software/operating system failure.

Which, despite my being impressed with Windows XP, is something which Microsoft are known for.

And these 'demo boxes' are reportedly the final hardware that customers are buying.

Sorry, but give me Gamecube any day. (PS2 is a given, obviously!)
