(although, I seem to remember reading about the difficulties Douglas Adams was having with his last book a year or so back (via his alt. forum... apparently it was supposed to be a Dirk Gently novel, but the publishers felt it wasnt 'Dirk Gently' enough to be part of the series... equally, they felt it was too 'Dirk Gently' to be classed as a seperate book?) ... However...

As nicked from Silicon.com...

'The final work of novelist Douglas Adams is set to be published next year.

The science fiction writer died of a heart attack in May this year before completing the book, Salmon of Doubt, which was intended to be the sixth episode of his renowned Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy series.
However, a draft of the book was reportedly found on his computer by his widow and it is expected to hit the bookshops in May next year, on the anniversary of his death.'

Won't be as refined, obviously... but it'll be lovely to see what the hell he's thought of next. :0)

He's right you know. Towels really are the most useful things in the universe.
