The future is full of surprises, many in the gaming world, but what can we expect? Think where we were 26 years ago, the world was in shock when the first computer game was released. PONG it was called, God knows who thought of the name, it was a simple bat and ball game with just three animations on the screen.
The future can only get better. If your thinking of buying the latest games console, think on. There's bound to be bigger, better one released in a few months time that has a lot more to offer, for example, the Dreamcast has just been released, we've seen all about it but many are resisting the temptation and are waiting for the amazing Playstation 2.
In ten years time imagine what games consoles could have accomplished, we have all heard of Virtual Reality Headsets, could this be part of the future of gaming?

Well they should concentrate on gameplay instead of money (but graphics do improve games to a certain extent "is that a switch?") and if you had a PC you would see that both are done. The PS2 will be a Playstation with improved graphics, if you don't think that graphics are the main factor then don't waste your money... you will soon see that the games are practically exactly the same except for the improvement in graphics and the somewhat common joke of "Resident Evil MCCLXXIII" (that's 1273) will be a reality (well okay not quite that many but you get the idea that it will just be more of the same forever). So don't go being fooled by the PS2, the thing is that consoles often seem to lack originality, from time to time a new game pops up (Goldeneye, Metal Gear Solid and so forth) but if it's originality and gameplay you want buy a PC. If it's multiplayer at home you want then don't waste £300 on it as well as buying a multitap adaptor, buy an N64 or wait for the X-Box or Dolphin (Yes you can buy a Dreamcast if you want, just don't bother with a PS2). Unless Sony surprise us all by proving they actually care about the customer, and don't just see us as a mine for money, the PS2 will just be more of the same in order to make money. Yes you might think "but look at this game it's original and great!" (none as of yet for PS2 but you never know) don't be fooled, it's just that an original game is released time to time in order to keep the customers trusting that there are more to come (and it will be a while but just short enough to fool you into thinking they care). So don't buy a PS2, send Sony back to what they do best with TVs and miscellaneous such multimedia products and leave the Games systems to those that care about a good gaming system, not just money.

It does not really matter about virtual reality or real life graphics it all matters about gameplay. Although graphics add alot to a package, i would be happy with my playstation for ever if they kept producing games with good gameplay. If i bought a game just for graphics then i would end up with games like Final Fantasy and Resident evil. Although these are good games i would not have any real gems like ISS evolution.
All i am saying is that console manufacturers should concentrate on the games more than the money!
