I finally saved up enough pennies to get my hands on a lovely PS2 along with 2 controllers, a memory card and Crazy Taxi. I rushed (mentally, while walking very slowly) home and whacked the black box under the TV in our living room.
But *shock horror* my worst dreams had come true, the leads wouldn’t work on our ancient telly.
So, off I pop, back to the shops to fork out 10 squid (now 100% skint) on a lead that connects straight into the aerial socket. And, at last! I get to play my dream machine. Whew!
That is, except for one small problem, having to change to wires round every time I stop or start playing.
Now, gradually, after the last 3 months the aerial socket on the TV has been over-used due to the frequent lead-changing. And, little know to me, had started to wibble and wobble about.
Until today.
i had just finished playing Airblade (not a bad game, actually) and went to swap the wires round. I pulled the lead from the back and *suspenseful music* the aerial socket came out too!
It is officially unfixable.
My PS2 broke my telly!
So now we are watching the little portable one from upstairs, until we get a new one....
....Ah-Ha! A new one!
Maybe the PS2 just wanted something a little more classy to be played on, something a little bigger, a little better.
And we’ll probably get digital now too. Yay!
Soooo.....
Was this a good thing or a bad thing?
Do our consoles have our best interests at heart?
Are they just looking for a better place to be played?
I say - good for consoles!
Kill the old, the useless, the weak tellies!
Be proud to be under a widescreen!
Fight the ancient!
Ha ha ha ha!
