Why do designers insist on bringing out loads of sequels to dated games? The latest sequels so far are smackdown3,crashbash and crash bandicoot:the wrath of cortex
etc.....the list continues.
There are only a few worthwhile sequels out there like the final fantasy series and GTA3.Personally im a bit (bleeped)
of about sequels at the moment, what do you FOGers think?:D
Anyways, some sequels are very good and take the character into all new territory (Mario 64 anyone?) sometimes they use the 'if it ain't broke don't fix it' attitude (Westwoods C & C series) and sometimes sequels are a churning out of the same old pap (Tomb Raider).
Sequels equal money. Take the Army Men series of games for instance. You don’t really think 3DO bring out a new Army Man game nearly every week because everyone likes them!? No, its because they take advantage of the market of gamers that don't know there Lara Croft from there Sonic. Therefore they get money...
Many sequels like GTA3, Age Of Empires 2 etc. Are made because the original games are so good that they deserve a sequel.
And that’s how it is I feel…
