"I need help on Luigi's Mansion."

I'm at a bit of a dead end. I'm on Area 2, after beating the baby. I've cleared the bathroom, cleared the ball room and the room just beyond that. No other doors on this, or Floor 2, can be unlocked, and all the open ones hold nothing.
I can go to the basement, into the first room that is open, and the lights are out, but the only ghosts I find in there are mice, and I stood in there for ages, without sign of a ghost.

Any special thing I need to do?

Released the Boo's yet?

In the room after the dancing hall one, there is a mirror. Look in the mirror and there will be a swith on the otherside. Press that. From there you are free to roam.

Yeah, that was the part that I got totally stuck with.

I read RM18's walkthrough to find out what I had to do next, very helpful.
Or you can follow what El Trib said, same thing really.
The room with lots of boxes stacked in the corner, with a few chairs stacked, a mirror... and a bucket and spade looks like. On the opposite side of the wall to the mirror, go up to it and press A. Done.

Its the only part where you will be stuck... from there its all easy again.

I was stuck on that for aaaaaaaaaaages. When I realised I smacked myself in the face. Literally.

I headbutted Luigi when I found out.

Took me ages to figure that out, but when I did, I was proud ;-)

I got it straight away.

this the bit where u cant save it? all lights are out and ghost everywhere, u need to beat mr gimley, from first hall, (where toad used to be), upstairs, though big doors, through next and next until in the room there the wardrobes are look into the mirror there, beat him and then turn the power on in basement.
