Owen Hart was one of twelve children from a legendary Canadian wrestling family. His brother Bret is also one of the most well known wrestlers of all time. Owen was one of the best wrestlers in the business and his major accomplishments include being the 1994 King of the Ring, former Intercontinental Champion(2), former European Champion, and co-holder of the Tag Team Championship (4). Sadly, Hart plunged to his death on May 23, 1999 during a PPV when he was performing a spectacular entrance. Hart was only 34 and is survived by his wife Martha, his son Oje and his daughter Athena.
But then, just 2 weeks ago, Helen Hart passed away from Diabeties complicatons.
The Hart family has had a lot of bad luck lately. I can't see Stu Hart living much longer. At 85, he'll probably die of grief, I'm sad to say. My thought and prayers go out to the Hart family at this difficult time.

What exactly happened? What happened afterwards for the rest of the event?
The event (Over The Edge 1999) took place on May 23rd, 1999. The PPV went fine for the first 2 matches. Then, the Blue Blazer (one of Hart's alter egos) was scheduled to face the Godfather. However, Hart is always lowered down from a cable, to give the effect that he's flying (it was a super-hero gimmick!). However, when he walked off of the catwalk, he went on a free fall to his death, 60+ feet below. His head hit the turnbuckle and snapped back, killing him instantly. They said he stood a chance of survivng, had he not hit the turnbuckle.
Luckily, at the time of the fall, a video package was being shown and I quote Jim Ross, "Take a look at this video, we've got problems out here folks...". Then, it was announced after the package that Hart had free fallen 60+ feet to the mat below. He was recieving heart massages in the ring from medics. 10 minutes later, he was taken away in a stretcher, as the fans applauded him, thinking it was a stunt. This, however, was no stunt.
The PPV continued and just before the Main Event, Jim Ross said, "It is my responsibility to tell you that...Owen Hart has died...". The Main Event still happened and the crowd were not actually told about it. WWF said that the PPV was not stopped because all the wrestlers wanted to continue. I seriously doubt that, I think it was so that they wouldn't have to refund money. You could tell after Owen fell that the wrestler's heart's just weren't in it. The Hart Family sued and got a measly $11 million dollars from the WWF - pathetic really.
Anyone else got any views on this?
Thanks for reading.

I let him in and told me Owen Hart Was dead this was about 3 or 4 in the morning. He was dead up set about it as Owen was his Fave and expected big things in his future.
Imagine how upset he would be if he was related to the Harts
I read about Owen Hart's tragic death a few months ago, and I'm still shocked. What exactly happened? What happened afterwards for the rest of the event?
