Kung Fu Chaos.
This game absolutely rocks! I played the demo for about 2 hours yesterdau with my flatmate. It mixes manic gameplay with a great sense of humour. It's supposed to have been out on April 11, but I haven't seen it anywhere...
As for the other demo's, there's playable ones of Wolfenstein, which I had a quick go at - seems too stealthy for me.
I had a quick go of V-Rally 3, but the handling is crap.
There's also playable demo's of Mechassualt, Yager, and another one that I've forgotten.
Video clips of The Matrix, True Crime: Streets of LA, and some golf rubbish as well.
Ho-hum.
I'm gonna get the new issue soon.
> My favourite Nintendo mag has to be Cube though.
Us GameCube owners seem to be starved for a decent specialised magazine, in my opinion. The official one has all the information, but it's poorly written and boring to read in my opinion. Cube is alright, and they've got a good news section - but I don't like their layout and hardly ever agree with their review scores. With G-Force, you get a DVD each month (plus a jam packed news area) but it's poorly written, cheesy and a bit tacky.
My favourite would be NGC - but even that has it's faults. The news section is rubbish really, they seem to be the last to know everything and aren't very informative. However, they do good previews and reviews (if a little long) and have easily the best writers (funny and interesting). Their free gifts are quite good also.
Which do I buy regularly? None. As a PS2, Xbox and Cube owner - I get GamesTM which caters for my every need. It's the best magazine I've ever read, and while they don't give out free gifts, every other aspect is top draw and that's not to mention the retro section or the fact that it's just £4 a month for 180 pages.
Can just imagine me in rehab "My names Pete...and I'm a gameaholic..." ::other mental cases clap:: ;-))
At least I have all the consoles now so I can't splash out on another console package. ;-))
I'll try the Getaway tomorrow. ;-)
> You might wanna get over tonight mate - the gaming gits been at it again. I grabbed a PS2 today with Vice City and The Getaway. God I'm such a gaming slapper.
LOL Thats the first time i've heard gaming and slapper in the same sentence. Games'll be the death of you if you don't slow down soon, is their a gaming rehab centre you can go to? :)
On another note, i had a lend of the getaway a week ago and its a bit dull. Play GTA instead its far better.
OXM has the demos, which is why i keep buying it. I think personally its quality has dropped. Its very behind in news, its previews are poor i think, its reviews are good and honest but a bit dull to read. Every one follows the same "routine". The rest of its alright. £6 is also a bit much.
The Official mag is good and so is XBox Gamer - hard to choose from those really.
My favourite Nintendo mag has to be Cube though.
Just out of interest, what's everyone's favourite Xbox mag? I reckon XBM and OXM are virtually identical content wise, so I therefore prefer OXM for the demo. I quite like Xbox Gamer actually - excellent free gifts (DVD and Official Strategy Guide for Halo, last issue) and it's very informative and well written. It's got it's flaws, but it's not as bad as you might think of a magazine that sells itself on half naked women.
