But it seem since 1998 decent orignal games have been declining. Theres just been fewer and fewer games that dont already have a history. There are less and less new games, but more sequels. Soul reaver TWO, Black and white TWO, Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy (#5 in the series), Ultima 9, Final Fantasy 10-2!! And truck loads of other examples of the same idea remixed and spat out to make the compants a bundle of money.
The Final Fantasy series created new worlds and new creatures each time, thus ending the games being the same, and the difference being nil. But now with the sequel of Final Fantasy 10 it seems evan the sequels to games have sequels, and all games are going to be redone with a partly different idea. There were ideas of them redoing FF7, F88 and ff9 with ps2 grahpcs and re-releasing them. It seems the world has run out of decent people with colorful imaginiations.
Evan games such as the Petz by Ubisoft, although unsucsessful are bringing out a 5th version of there sereies of virtual pet games.
The sims is the best example of this. There ont he 6th expanison pack, and with the Sims Online and there Deluxe paackages of games, there seems to be no calming the storm of these corny add-ons.
What happened to the new games? The newest are being pulled from old books and legends such as robin hood and lord of the rings. will it take films such as x-men and the incredible hulk to storm new ideas back onto our screens and consoles?
Tell me ur thoughts.

Yeah - the tens of thousands of people who bought the Sims upgrades were obviously tricked or something. They see some value in it all, get some gaming out of it. Not my cup of tea, but then hey, what are you going to do? I know - I'll play Link to the Past on my SP, and Pokemon Sapphire. Or, maybe a little Super Monkey Ball 2 on the Gamecube? Pro Evo 2 for PS2? Tell you what, I'm just about to order Shenmue 2 for my XBOX after playing through the original again on my Dreamcast.
All sequels (one is just a straight cash-in port, but I'm still enjoying it), all great games. I'm not bothered that the current pile of games I'm playing through are all sequels because they're all great. I've even missed out Zelda:WW and and handful of the Sega Sports titles. I've been playing games for years and never have I had such a wide selection of brilliant games just waiting to be played. Okay, maybe part of this is because when I was ten I could only have the NES becasue I didn't earn money to go out and buy a Master System too ro whatever - but hey, there's more than enough good stuff out there.

But there's virtually no difference whatsoever in each The Sims game, each FF has different stories and ways of getting stronger, materia, and the sphere board being quite... different...
Bah this is a stupid topic.
And i think 10 comes after 6, dont you?
Anyway, theres plenty of new and original games eg, halo, splinter cell
Well theyre the only two i can come up with, cos theyre the most recent original games ive bought

like the streetfighter revamps *shudders*
Those are all the original games that I can think about on the GameCube. Probably quite a few more on Xbox and PS2 as well.
It's hard to be original when there aren't many new options to choose from in gaming these days, and developers are sometimes too scared to make original things, anyway, in fear of getting slated for it.
